Contemporary R&B

Contemporary R&B is a type of music consisting of a mix of rhythm and blues, pop, soul, funk and hip hop. The abbreviation ‘R&B’ originates from traditional rhythm and blues music. The term R&B B is most often used to describe a style of African-American music originating after the demise of disco in the 1980s.

Music Genres

Pop Rock

Pop rock is a genre of music that mixes the catchy style of light lyrics from pop songs with guitar-based rock songs. The term varies vastly and is very vague as there are many different bands that are socially accepted as ‘pop-rock’. The term ‘pop rock’ is mostly used to describe bands that are less authentic than rock music. These are several bands that are pop rock:

The Introduction

I have now made a new blog for the purpose of my main project in which I will be creating my Music Magazine front cover, contents page and a double page spread. This blog will include everything that was in my Preliminary Task, however now with extremely more detail. My first section of research is three different types of music genres.
